Dar Es Salaam — The national U-23 soccer team striker Thomas Ulimwengu is expected to leave for Germany tomorrow for trials, the Tanzania Football Federation confirmed yesterday.

“It’s true, we’ve been notified by his (Ulimwengu’s) manager that one of the leading clubs in Germany is interested in signing him,” said TFF information officer Boniface Wambura.

“He’s expected to return to Dar es Salaam tomorrow (today) from Kilimanjaro where the U-team is competing in the on-going Kili Taifa Cup, to process his visa” Wambura said. He fell short of naming the Germany club.

This comes only days after the teenage striker returned home from Lubumbashi, DR Congo where he underwent trials with TP Mazembe for two weeks.

Efforts by this paper to contact his manager Damas Ndumbalo for comment on the matter yesterday proved futile, as he was not in his office and his mobile phone was switched off.
