Mensah returned to action for the Black Cats after spending weeks on the sidelines and the England Under-21 midfielder believes the on-loan Lyon centre-half was key to the victory.
“Anton had a big game, Nedum was brilliant, John did well so it was a good performance at the back and from the whole team. We had to make sure we dealt with Bolton and we managed to do that.” he said
Mensah has denied reports in the British media that the Wearside club have concluded negotiations with French side Lyon to tie him down.
