Rev Owusu Bempah is not the father of my baby – Girl confesses

The lady at the center of a controversy in which Rev Owusu Bempah, the founder of End Time Ministries International is being accused of fathering a child has confessed that she lied against the pastor.

19-year-old Marian told Adom News she had withdrawn the case she filed at the Accra Regional Office of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) against the pastor because she had realized what she was doing was bad.

Last week, the news broke that Rev Owusu Bempah had allegedly fathered a child with Marian who was his house help but had refused to accept responsibility compelling her to make a case against him at DOVVSU to compel him to take a paternity test.

What made the matter more complicated was the involvement of a former junior pastor of the church, Pastor Felix Garr who was also in a relationship with the girl at the same time and was the one who took care of her till she delivered.

But Marian has changed her story and says all that she said about Rev Owusu Bempah were lies. According to her, Pastor Felix Garr was the real father of the 12-month old baby.

She said she became part of a plot to disgrace Rev. Owusu Bempah by pastor Garr who wanted to pay Reverend Owusu Bempah for sacking him from his church.

She said she had never had an affair with Rev. Bempah so he cannot be the father of the child.

Public Relations Officer of DOVVSU, Chief Inspector Irene Oppong confirmed that Marian had contacted her outfit to withdraw the case but said DOVVSU is still interested in ending the issue once and for all.

When Pastor Felix Garr was reached on phone, he declined to comment on the issue.

For his part Rev. Owusu Bempah said he was aware some pastors had ganged up to disgrace him but he said he believed God will let the truth prevail.
