Stopping short of naming names, the editor of the pro-government newspaper claimed most of the people standing hand-in-hand with the president on that day were the same people who stabbed President Mills in the back and worked vigorously to prevent him from becoming president.
Mike Dokosi expressed disbelief at seeing on national television some NDC ‘traitors’, responsible for revealing to Mrs. Rawlings secret discussions they held with the president openly endorsing his (Mills’) candidature, adding that their actions were creating a deep division in the party. To him, it was a shameful sight to behold on TV the same ardent NDC members who had created some enmity between the sitting president and the former first family, ‘smiling’.
‘For me, those people are the bigger enemies; they are the ‘Brutuses’ in life. We all know Brutus was the person who stabbed Julius Caesar (at the back) the last time, making him look at him and say; (Et Tu Brute) ‘Even you too, Brutus?’, Mr. Dokosi said.
Speaking to Emefa Apawu on X-FM’s ‘Big Bite’ show, the ‘Daily Post’ Editor called on President Mills to be on the alert and look out for his enemies from within his inner circle, pointing out that ‘a vicious enemy is better than a clumsy friend’.
He expressed worry that the NDC was playing into the hands of the NPP and was arming their political opponents with campaign messages which they could rely on to send the ruling party back into the throes of opposition in 2012, considering the numerous governance mistakes they were committing.
