Jermaine Pennant scores Stoke against Arsenal

Pennant scored one and assisted one against his former club

Stoke all but ended Arsenal’s lingering title hopes with a deserved win at the Britannia Stadium.

Kenwyne Jones bundled home Jermaine Pennant’s pinpoint free-kick before Pennant capped a driving run with a shot that deflected off Johan Djourou.

Robin van Persie struck from the edge of the box to give Arsenal hope but they conceded two minutes later when Jonathan Walters slotted home.

Manchester United require only a point to end Arsenal’s dwindling title hopes.
