Swansea face Nottingham Forest in their Championship play-off semi-final, as Cardiff take on Reading

It has been confirmed that Swansea will face Nottingham Forest in their play-off semi-final, while Cardiff will take on Reading in the second play-off tie, after the final round of Championship games were completed.

After leapfrogging rivals Cardiff on the final day of the season following a 4-0 win over Sheffield United, Swansea finished in third place and will now face a semi-final first-leg trip to Nottingham Forest, who obtained sixth spot, on May 12.

Dave Jones’s Cardiff drew with Burnley on the final day of the season and had to settle for fourth place. They face a trip to Reading for their play-off semi-final first-leg tie on May 13.

Swansea host Nottingham Forest in their second-leg clash on May 16, while Cardiff will welcome Brian McDermott’s side in their return leg on May 17.

The winner of each semi-final will take a trip to Wembley on May 30 to play in the play-off final, which will determine the third team to be promoted to the Premier League along with QPR, who won the division, and Norwich, who secured second place.
