Super Falcons goalkeeper Tochi Oluehi
Nigeria’s female national team goalkeeper Tochi Oluehi is optimistic the Super Falcons will replicate history when they tackle Ghana in the final hurdle for the 2011 All Africa Games.
The high-flying Super Falcons advance to the 2004 Athens Olympic games at the expense of Ghana on penalties after drawing 1-1 in the first fixture at home.
While the Black Queens are keen to erase that memory, Nigerian stopper Oluehi believes another history beckons for the West African giant.
She said: “It will not happen in my time. There is no way we will not qualify. The first leg was a very difficult game and we conceded an easy goal a few minutes after we scored.
“We will not even let it get to penalties. When we get there, our target will be to score and win the game before it gets to that.
“They are a good team, but we believe we are better, and we are not even thinking of not qualifying.”
