BREAKING NEWS: QPR face no points deduction in Alejandro Faurlin case and will be promoted automatically

QPR will face no points deduction over the signing of Alejandro Faurlin and will be crowned champions at Loftus Road today when they host Leeds United.

The long-time league leaders had feared a points deduction after it was revealed there was irregularities in the signing of the Argentinean midfielder.

BBC news correspondent Dan Roan released this statement shortly after the news was announced,

“The Regulatory Commission hearing charges brought by the FA against Queens Park Rangers FC wish to announce that although two of the charges have been found to be proved there will be no points deduction made from Queens Park Rangers FC in this season or the next. A further announcement will follow.”

A cloud has hung over this hearing for many weeks for QPR fans and Neil Warnock says the news is a huge relief for the club.

“There have been a few tears in the dressing-room, it’s been a hell of a time. How they’ve been able to focus I’ll never know. People have been speaking out who didn’t know their facts. It hasn’t sunk in, but there’s so much relief, it’s such a great feeling.” Warnock told reporters.

QPR chairman Gianni Paladini could not contain his delight when he heard the news.

“Yes, we are promoted, we are champions, Rangers are champions”, according to the BBC’s Paul Fletcher.
