The Brazilian international has played 16 games for the club since moving back to Brazil at the start of 2011, and was key part of the team which lifted the Carioca with a victory against Vasco da Gama. On Thursday he confirmed that he had rediscovered the joy of playing football once more, and was delighted to be a part of the team.
“I am so happy here. Ever since I arrived I have felt a special vibe in the club and in the city. My teammates, the coaching team, the fans and the directors have treated me superbly,” the player told Flamengo’s official website.
“It is impossible to be unhappy playing in Flamengo, because of everything the club represents. I have already lifted my first title here and we are working to look for more.”
Flamengo’s next test will be against Ceara in the Copa do Brasil quarter finals, with the first leg played on Thursday evening. Ronaldinho was under no illusions and foresaw a difficult clash.
“It will not be easy for us. We know that Ceara is a great team, that will come to make life hard for us. Our goal is to fight for the Copa Libertadores next year and we could make it in six games if we win. We will continue working hard to achieve our targets,” the ex-Barcelona and Milan playmaker concluded.
