To wed: Paul McCartney and girlfriend Nancy Shevell are engaged
Paul McCartney and his girlfriend of four years, Nancy Shevell, are engaged.
The 68-year-old musician met Nancy, 51, an American businesswoman, in The Hamptons during the summer of 2007 before his divorce from Heather Mills was actually finalised.
The pair have been said by friends to be the ‘perfect couple’ with one telling People Magazine: ‘They have the right chemistry.’
‘They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic.’
Nancy, the vice president of a family-owned transportation conglomerate, also reportedly gets on well with Paul’s five children – Heather, 48, Mary, 41, Stella, 39, James, 33, and Beatrice, seven.
The couple were recently spotted out together on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last Tuesday.
This will be the third wedding for former Beatle Sir Paul.
He was married to Linda McCartney from 1969 until her death from breast cancer in 1998.
He then married Heather Mills, a former model and philanthropist in 2002.
The couple separated in May 2006 and were officially divorced in May 2008.
