Nigeria’s Premier League, which has been on recess since March, will resume this weekend, the board of the NPL announced last Monday.
The league was initially scheduled to resume after a two-week break at the halfway mark, but failed to resume to allow for the general elections in the country.
Further postponements followed in the wake of the outbreak of violence in the northern part of the country after the elections.
But the league organisers have now settled on this weekend for the resumption of the campaign.
There will be no league games on the weekend of May 14 and 15, when the finals of Federation Cup matches will be played across the country.
Dolphins currently lead the 20 team league on 43 points, four clear of second-placed Sunshine Stars.
