Davies was initially acquired via weighted lottery by Real Salt Lake in 2009. He signed with MLS after spending three years with Southampton in England, where he featured for their youth and reserve sides.
After his acquisition, Real Salt Lake immediately traded Davies’ rights to FC Dallas. He played in 11 matches for the Hoops in 2009, starting ten of those matches. Injuries cut his 2010 short, as a fractured arm suffered in the opening match kept him out nearly the entire season. With George John and Ugo Ihemelu firmly entrenched as the starting center backs, Davies was deemed surplus to requirements.
Davies is a veteran of the United States youth setup, having made 11 appearances with the U20s, including captaining the side through 2009 World Cup qualifying and the tournament itself in Egypt.
