Nana Konadu has ‘Be Bold’ as her slogan, but it was changed to ‘Be Bold and Reject the Rawlingses’ by party people who trooped to the NDC headquarters in solidarity with President Mills when he picked up his nomination forms yesterday.
The supporters, who were at the Kokomlemle office of the NDC in Accra were clad in T-Shirts embossed with photographs of Professor J.E.A Mills and John Mahama at early hours of the day, were of the view that the boldness that Nana Konadu was talking about should be sent back to her.
Some of the supporters even went to the extent of wearing T-Shirts with the inscription ‘Be Bold and tell the Rawlingses they will lose.’
Amid drumming and dancing, they swore to go all out and reject Nana Konadu, come July this year.
While the supporters who traveled from far and near were going on with the rejection of the Rawlingses, drama unfolded when three young men carried an 82-year-old woman to the precincts of the party office.
The old lady, whose name was given by her grandchildren as Hajia Alhassan Maali, started rolling on the ground while talking.
Her message which was interpreted by the grandchildren was that the Rawlingses have brought an unbearable disrespect to their children.
According to her, one of the children of the Rawlingses would have the President of the country but that has been blown away by Nana Konadu.
The woman, who rolled on the ground for four minutes, said that it would have been ideal for the Rawlingses to groom one of their kids for future use.
Immediately after speaking, the old lady said she had accomplished her mission and asked the grandchildren to take her back to her Nima abode.
