Nana Addo was in Kumasi on his second leg of his all-hands-on-deck tour to interact with party officials.
The angry supporters burst out soon after the meeting by the flag bearer, national and regional executives chanting, hooting and swearing to vote ‘skirt and blouse’ if their concerns are not addressed.
They accused some of the victors of last week’s parliamentary primaries of vote buying.
Not even the intervention of the Nana Addo campaign manager, Boakye Agyarko will calm tempers as the supporters hissed and booed after his failed attempt, Nhyira FM’s Naa Amerley Nortey reported.
“We need change,” the supporters shouted in unison threatening to vote for independent candidates or even the NDC if the party fails to address the challenges they had outlined in their petitions.
Officials of the party said an independent body will be set up to investigate the concerns.
John Boadu deputy communication chairman said they will work tirelessly to resolve all the grievances in the troubled constituencies.
Party Chairman Jake Obetsebi Lamptey is hopeful the party will be able to deal with the agitations.
He cited early squabbles that surrounded the election of national executives and flag-bearer of the party insisting they will do so once again.
He told Joy News with the good will within the party, caring executives ready and willing to listen and a flagbearer working to lead a united party, they will be able to resolve the crisis before December 2012.
