Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that his side cannot be written off prior to the Champions League final against Barcelona.
United are widely seen as the underdogs against Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley on May 28, but Ferguson feels the club should never be dismissed.
He told MUTV: “Everyone is saying we are playing a fantastic team, which we are.
“But you can’t write us off. You can never write Manchester United off.”
The manager also confirmed that Patrice Evra and Wayne Rooney will be fit to play against Chelsea in a potential Premier League decider on Saturday.
The left-back suffered a knock late in the game while the England striker was left out entirely, with the Scot admitting that he did not want to risk his star man.
“Patrice got a kick,” Ferguson said.
“I was ready to substitute him but he said he was OK. Wayne will be all right. I wasn’t prepared to take a risk.”
