In spite of new additions to the starting line-up, an injury to their striker, and being down 1-0, the defending champions were able to bring home a victory.

Facing a team that has not lost yet this season, the Colorado Rapids knew it was going to be a hard fought battle as they faced the Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium. Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear stated after the match, “They defended very well and took advantages of the mistakes we made. I think to be 1-0 up and two minutes later to give up a goal is a little deflating. They did a good job off just knocking the ball forward using the big guys to try and disturb us.”
With Omar Cummings injured, midfielder Jamie Smith and defender Scott Palguta were able to step in, and bring home a much needed win.
“The Colorado Rapids were able to steal a win with not much offense going against Houston’s strong defense,” announced former Rapids Marcela Balboa.
