Mills picks up nomination forms, calls for clean contest

The President, Professor John Atta Mills has picked up nomination forms to compete in the National Democratic Congress’s flabearer contest.

Accompanied by a number of close confidants, members of the Council of State and Ministers, the president was mobbed by a huge crowd as he personally went to pick up the forms at the Party’s headquarters at Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra.

Responding to welcome remarks by party General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, President Mills called for a clean contest, reminding his potential opponents that they would have to come together to fight the 2012 elections as one party after the national delegates congress slated for July 8-10 in Sunyani.

The President is set to launch his campaign at his Osu Kuku Hill office later in the day.

Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings picked up nomination forms on Tuesday May 3 and launched her campaign at the International Conference Centre on May 4, 2011.
