Tottenham have contacted Sevilla about making a summer move for £13.5 million midfielder Diego Perotti, Goal.com can reveal.

Spurs have indicated they would be willing to offer Giovani dos Santos or Niko Kranjcar in part-exchange for the Argentine.

Perotti, 22, who has established himself as Sevilla’s first choice on the left flank over the last two seasons, has been watched extensively by Spurs scouts.

However, Perotti, who is destined to leave the Spanish club in the summer given the imminent arrival of Germany international Piotr Trochowski, has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle and Marseille.

Sevilla value Perotti at £13.5m, which is a fee that Spurs are unwilling to meet, but the London club are keen on a swap deal involving one of their out-of-favour wide players.

Dos Santos, who has been on loan at Racing Santander since January, has struggled to adapt to life in England and has been mentioned as a £4m makeweight in any potential deal, as has Croatian Kranjcar, who will leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season and is valued at around the same price by Spurs.

Although Tottenham have no intention of listening to offers for £45m-rated Gareth Bale this summer they are looking to shake up their wide midfield options and Perotti is regarded as a player who can operate on both flanks.

He has followed up his five goals in 41 matches for Sevilla last season by starting 34 of his 42 games in the current campaign, which have yielded four goals and six assists.
