Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has refused to rule injured winger Matthew Etherington out of the FA Cup final.

Etherington tore his hamstring in last week’s win over Wolves and it was feared he could miss the rest of the season as he was stretchered off in the first half.

The Potters, who face Manchester City in less than two weeks for a chance to win the FA Cup for the first time in their history, have already lost defender Danny Higginbotham to a serious injury.
 
Etherington scored one of Stoke’s goals in the 5-0 semi-final win over Bolton at Wembley, and his manager is hopeful that the winger can make it to the final.

“Fingers crossed, he’s in the pool and he’s doing some walking,” Pulis was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

“We just want to see if we can get it to settle down.”
