Ghana’s hiphop artist goes global with another international award. Be Black has been nominated for Global Music Video awards (USA) under ‘Best Foreign Entry’ category with his video ‘REVOLUTION (It’s a Ghetto)’ which will be held May 5 & 6 at THE MEADOWS, Hellertown, PA USA.
This marks him not only as a singer but also an activist. The song addresses socio-politic issues thus corruption, malaria, HIV/AIDS, women abuse etc.
With his movement in activism he has also been invited to participate in conference “LGBT/Queer Studies: Toward Trans/national Scholarly and Activist Kinships” that we will be held in Madrid, Spain from July 3-5, 2011.
It will involve scholars and activists to join in an exploration of the methods, possibilities, challenges and dangers of doing LGBT/queer scholarship, activism, pedagogy and curriculum in a transnationalized/technologically mediated world.
REVOLUTION (It’s a Ghetto) caught the ears of Damitow Records and it was selected on the yearly compilation titled “A Charity Record” where proceeds are donated to RAINN Organization in support of women globally.

It marks him among Ghanaian artist lifting the national colours high from his nomination in the Los Angeles Music awards and winning the ‘Best New CD’ at the Radioindy Grandie Music Awards (Arizona, USA).
