DELTA State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh, Wednesday, denied media reports that the party plans to join the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP and Labour Party, LP, to challenge the outcome of the gubernatorial election in the state in court.

Okotie-Eboh in a statement said, “the attention of the leadership of the  ACN, Delta State, has been drawn to reports in the  media to the effect that ACN in conjunction with DPP and LP would head to court to challenge the results of the April 26, 2011 gubernatorial election.

“ACN is of the view that the said election while not perfect, Deltans should be allowed to unite and develop the state through dialogue.

“Unless credible and verifiable evidence of fraud is available to us, it is our position that electoral litigation is unnecessary.

“Without prejudice to the above statement, we have asked our candidates in both National and State Assembly elections, who have credible evidence to proceed to the tribunal. Delta State must be allowed to heal and develop,”  he added.
