U-23 Eagles assistant coach, Stanley Eguma, has assured Nigerians that the team is ready for Liberia in today’s All African Games qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the ancient City of Benin.
The Dolphins technical adviser said they were able to study their Liberian counterparts during the first leg in Monrovia and will plot their downfall to move on to the next stage of the qualifying series for Maputo 2011 in August.
“We are strategising very well for the match as we know that our opponents are not push-overs. I think we are more prepared for the game because we are better than them, the players are working very hard.
Some of the professional players have arrived and most of the home based players are in good shape, so we expect to have a very good game this weekend as anything short of victory will not be good for us. We will try to put the players in the right direction for the match.
“We have played them, so we now know their strength. We will base our strategy on what we have gathered from them in Liberia. I know what we are doing now technically will give us the desired victory, because our players are technically sound.
“The arrival of the foreign players has enlivened the camp as they are giving the home based some confidence and the team spirit is high,” Eguma said
