DIRECTOR KATHRYN BIGELOW is shooting a movie about the death of OSAMA BIN LADEN. The Oscar winner and screenwriter MARK BOAL – who penned Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker – had been plugging away on a film called Kill Bin Laden, based on a failed mission to take out the terrorist.

However, the Al-Qaeda leader’s real-life demise at the hands of a US Navy SEAL team has forced the pair to rewrite the end of their flick.

Boal – who has been following the elite unit’s hunt for the world’s most wanted criminal for some time – and Bigelow are now working on a new script to include US President BARACK OBAMA’s ordered raid on the Pakistan compound where bin Laden was shot dead at the weekend.

The film-makers have already begun casting the movie, which is expected to move into production this summer.

Bigelow and Boal are currently shooting Triple Frontier, starring TOM HANKS, about the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.

The area is a breeding ground for organised crime and some officials believe it to be a base for Islamic terrorism groups in South America.
