The Queen of African Project, a pet project of Taofick Okoya, will roll out the drums to celebrate the African/Nigerian child on May 28.
“The Queen of Africa, which started as a business has become a social-cultural and educative innovation, with positive life changing initiative, set up to empower, promote and support Nigerian/African girl child,” a statement by Okoya said.
According to Okoya, there are female role models that children can identify with. “Currently there is a wide generational gap between young and old, which makes it difficult for the children to warm up to most of the role models presently,” he said.
