By SIMON EBEGBULEM BENIN – Governor Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, ordered the removal of the Transition Committee Chairman for Esan North East Local Government Area, Mr Robert Okoinemen. It will be recalled that the Transition chairmen of Esan Central and Igueben, all in Edo Central senatorial district, had earlier been sacked by the governor, following the defeat suffered by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the area to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded general elections. In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Peter Okhiria, Mr Okoinemen was directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the Head of Service of the council within 24 hours
ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC, has postponed the local government elections scheduled for Saturday 21st May.
Chairman of the commission, Mr Kayode Adeleye, yesterday at a briefing said 16 political parties collected the requisite forms, but that only one out of them returned the form at the close of nomination. He said that all logistic arrangements had been put in place before the postponement
