A former First Lady, , has cut a slice of history for being the first female aspiring presidential candidate of a political party in Ghana to pick nomination forms to vie for the flagbearership of her party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She pledged to send Ghana back to its former glory.

After picking the forms, she told the crowd that was waiting outside, I will bring Ghana back to where it belongs. The former First Lady said that to a teeming crowd of her supporters at the NDC Headquarters in Accra.

Before she handed over her fee of GH¢500 to pick the nomination forms, she said she was determined and bent on contesting and winning the general election of 2012 on the ticket of the NDC.

Nana Konadu was met by hundreds of supporters from far and near who had trooped to the Kokomlemle office of the party to catch a glimpse of her when she arrived at 10.20 a.m.

She made her way to the office, amidst drumming, brass band music and dancing by her supporters who, in spite of being prevented from entering the premises of the party headquarters, made their presence felt by shouting slogans such as Be Bold and I will die for you.

The NDC General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, who presented the forms to the former First Lady, told her that she would be called for vetting at least two weeks before the partys congress in July this year.

He said those who would qualify to contest the election would be notified at least two days before the congress.
