Gambia: Ous Jallow Hopes to Storm Bif Attack

By Fred Oluoch-Ojiwah 2 May 2011 Despite rising food and fuel prices coupled with lower harvests registered during the first part of the agricultural season, there is a cautious optimism for higher growth in 2011, according to the World Bank. The bank said in its latest report that gives the key indicators of Rwanda's growth prospects for this year based on previous year's performances that the economy grew by 7.5 percent, two percent higher than the rest of the East African Community (EAC) member states. The current edition of Rwanda Economic Update titled "Seeds for Higher Growth" says that the optimism is based on reviews of recent macroeconomic developments registered last year.

Ous Jallow is hoping to recover his form and fitness as he prepares to storm back to the Brondby attack.

The Gambian goal-poacher is yet to record his name on a score sheet this season as Brondby contemplates cashing in on the 22-year-old when the ‘right’ offer is put on the table.

Jallow’s scoring credentials were questioned by some section of the Danish press after he featured in many games without scoring.

Goal drought gripped the former Wallidan scoring machine and as if to cap off a miserable season, the ex-Raja Casablanca, Al Ain was sent packing on the sideline with an injury.

But in an almost call for change of fortune, the Gambia international is hoping to regain his form and fitness as he prepares launching a comeback to the Brondby starting line up.

Ous started in Brondby’s reserve side against OB and now feels getting back to the Superliga.

“I am happy to be fit again so I can regain my form and fitness, and it only comes by to play some more matches” he told the press.

He added “- Of course I hope to get back on the Superliga team as soon as possible, but it is ultimately always the coach’s decision, so I will exercise show that he would choose me”

The 22-year-old admits it is going to be ‘tough’ to get to the starting line-up.

“Agger and Gehrt playing right now, they will score and the team wins, so competition is tough, but it is only good for the team, so all players deliver the goods all the time. Competition is necessary” he said.
