Wanlawayn — As Monsoon showers started to fall many regions in southern and central Somalia, diarrhea continues to kill kids.

At least 20 toddlers died of the disease of watery diarrhea in the district of Wanlawayn, about 90 kilometers south west of Mogadishu, the capital of war-torn Somalia.

In the most affected areas are the villages of Libahley, Maha-jes, Hunyo in Wanlawayn district in Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia.

Sheikh Ahmed Nur, one of local elders in the district, confirmed Shabelle that there is an outbreak of the disease.

He noted that a number of children in the region are suffering from the same disease.
