East African Business Week (Kampala) 29 April 2011 Bujumbura — Two Burundian coffee personalities; Emile Kamwenubusa and Adrien Sibomana, were hosted to a special event that covered a wide range of topics including privatisation of the Burundi coffee industry in Minneapolis, USA. Other areas covered included the role the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is playing in improving Burundi coffee farming and production as well as the initiatives the country is taking to satisfy the different market segments for specialty coffee. Emile Kamwenubusa works with USAID on agronomic projects to improve coffee quality and production.

Luanda — The Pope John Paul II was beatified this Sunday morning, at St. Peter’s Square, in Vatican.
The beatification was acclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI during a mass declaring: John Paul II is beatified, for his strong and generous apostolic faith.
The ceremony was witnessed by thousand pilgrims from various parts of the world, delegates and about 80 heads of State.
Angola is represented by Vice President, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, accompanied by his wife, Maria Augusta dos Santos and the Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva.
