Uganda Kobs will try to protect their one-goal margin when they face Tanzania in the All Africa Games qualifiers return leg in Dar-es-Salaam today.
The 2-1 advantage in Kampala a fortnight ago came on the back of a hatful of wasted chances. But coach George Ssimwogerere is keen to address that.
“It’s an open tie which is far from done. We have to respect our opponents despite them chasing a result,” he said. Uganda’s last trip to Tanzania ended in the hosts’ victory in the Tusker Cecafa Cup.
But a select Ugandan side managed a 3-2 friendly win the same year. However, the U-23 side have Ssimwogerere’s experience the coach having managed at Tanzania’s Kagera.
Defender Isaac Isinde failed to make the trip forcing the coach to take Ayub Kisalita.
Vietnam-based Moses Oloya, a scorer in the first leg, is ruled out opening the door for KCC forward Caesar Sapeo. The winner will face either Kenya or Eritrea.
