The fixture follows Nigeria’s 6-1 spanking of Liberia on Sunday to qualify 7-2 on aggregate. Nigeria’s Dream Team drew the first leg in Monrovia but the team under coach Austin Eguavoen thoroughly annihilated their opponents to line up a clash with Ghana.
The Black Meteors who are representing Ghana in the qualifiers must beat Nigeria to salvage their reputation after they were eliminated by Sudan from the Olympic qualifiers.
Ghana advance to this stage after Benin withdrew from the qualifiers.
The Ghana v Nigeria encounter scheduled for late June comes after the latter beat their neighbours to a slot in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals in February.
The upcoming qualifier is expected to be a big match as clashes between the two countries are always hotly contested.
