Efry Mbye, Rongo Case Fails to Proceed

The ongoing criminal trial against Abdoulie Mbye alias Efry Mbye and Momodou Lamin Jarju, alias Rongo, on Wednesday could not proceed at the Banjul Magistrates Court, presided over by the acting Principal Magistrate Taiwo Ade Alagbe.

When the matter was called, the police prosecutor for the case, ASP Habib Sanyang, applied for a short adjournment on the grounds that the witness he intended to call for testimony in the case was indisposed and could not come to the court.

Ebrima Jah, the defence counsel for the first accused person did not object to the application made by the prosecution. The case was subsequently adjourned to the 16th of May, 2011.
