Another Victory for the APRC

At long last the verdict has been delivered. The people of Wuli East have once more proven to the whole country and the world at large that they are people of progress, peace and prosperity, by voting in the candidate of the APRC in Thursday’s by-election. By voting massively for the APRC, a party that has always been synonymous with development, to retain its National Assembly seat, the people of Wuli East have indeed sent a clear message that come November 24th, nothing can stop the ruling party from registering another landslide vioctory.

The victory is of course not surprising to anyone who is objectively monitoring developments in the country. Taking into consideration the massive development in every sector of the economy, it is obvious that Gambians have no reason to reject the APRC. What we have just withnessed in Wuli East is a testimony to that fact. We wish to commend the people of Wuli East for once again putting their trust on the APRC; we also welcome aboard the newly elected NAM of the constituency to the party of development and progress.

We also hope that the unanimous verdict of the people themselvces would be used to unify the constituency under the banner of the APRC, now that the election is over. It is certain that the APRC won the by-election and would continue to win every other election in the 2011 electoral cycle. What is therefore important is for the people to put behind the issues that devided them during the campaign and come together to help the newly elected NAM to achieve his ambitions for the constituency. As far as President Jammeh is concerned, it would be development galore all the way and every Gambian would become part of that process.
