Manchester City set to offer £15m and Shaun Wright-Phillips for Bolton defender Gary Cahill – report

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a £15 million package deal including winger Shaun Wright-Phillips to entice Bolton Wanderers to let go of highly sought after defender Gary Cahill.

The 25-year-old has been on the radar of top teams such as Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal but City are convinced that Owen Coyle could be inclined to accept their deal as he
showed interest in recruiting Wright-Phillips in January.

Cahill still has a year left on his contract but, according to the News of the World, could be transferred if Bolton receive a £15m fee with the Eastlands club also looking alleviate their budget by getting rid of Wright-Phillips’ £80,000-a-week contract.

Roberto Mancini will be looking to reinforce their defence with Kolo Toure set to be subject to a two-year ban after failing a drug test in March.

City want a defender to partner up with Vincent Kompany in defence since Joleon Lescott continues to underperform and with Jerome Boateng plagued with injuries this season.
