THE Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 11, will on  May 2, address his people on the state of the ethnic nationality as part of a nine-day activities to mark his 24th coronation anniversary (Oyo-Ekoro) in Warri, Delta State.

According to a statement by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Chief Emmanuel Tetsola, the colourful event is billed to commence tomorrow, April 30, with praises to Almighty God at the Foursquare Gospel Church (Aghofen), Warri, and end on Sunday, May 8, at the same church with a thanksgiving service, followed by traditional dances and paying of homage at his private residence, Atuwatse Close, GRA, Warri.

According to the programme lined up for the event by Warri Council of Chiefs, there will be special prayers on Sunday, Itsekiri fashion parade and the Royal address on Monday, free health care on Tuesday and exhibition of Itsekiri art/craft, dishes, drama and comedy.

Other events lined up for the epoch-making ceremony, include rich cultural display of Itsekiri dances and paying of homage. The event is set to be witnessed by prominent sons and daughters of the land, very important Nigerians and foreigners alike, including the business and corporate world representatives.
