Copperbelt gospel outfit DMK are set for the release of their second album Favour on May 8.

After countrywide tours promoting the same album, the trio will now launch the album at Ndola’s Broadway Cinema Hall.

A host of other Zambians gospel artistes will turn up to give support to the vibrant youth group whose music appeal caters across the board, but a large chunk of their appeal is with the young people.

Some of the gospel artistes to perform at the Favour launch include Chapro award wining artiste Kings Mumbi, popularly known as Malembe Malembe, Suwilanji, Roberta, Chico, Trinity Ambassadors, Sife, Auswardand Mumbi.

Namibian Songbird Princess G would be a special feature at the launch dubbed Gospel Alive.

The trio linked up with her during their visit to Nambia last year. DMK, the youth trio of extroverts namely Davis Imgwee, Mark Kabalu and Kelvin Mwaba, have been playing gospel music for a close to a decade now.

Their first album was titled Shimwitwa Apakakala, a bemba phrase meaning calling upon God in every situation.

“I am glad things have shaped up. Tickets are selling and everyone is expectant,” Kabalu told Times Entertainment during the week.

According to Kabalu, so far several hundreds of tickets have been sold and more still selling.

The album Favour seems to have been received well by the public which is why even Zambian female boxing champion Esther Phiri used one of the tracks as a theme song during her last fight.

“The launch will be on Sunday afternoon till around 21:00 hours. We want to cater for everyone because some youths can’t make it in the night,” said Kabalu.

Ever since the album, which was mastered and packaged in the US was released in February this year, DMK have been all over places including Malawi, where they have managed to create partnerships with local gospel artistes.

Ultimately, the Gospel Live themed album launch is something to look forward to.
