Namibe — The youth and sports department in the south-west Namibe province launched on Thursday in this city an environmental project dubbed “O ambiente somos nós” with planting of about two thousand trees of various species in the local High Administration and Management Institute.
This was said to Angop on Thursday by the local director of youth and sports department, Narciso da Costa.
Narciso da Costa said that the project is aimed at occupying the free times of youths through creation of youth environmental brigades at the high institutes of the province.
Narciso da Costa said that these brigades are aimed for the preservation and protection of the environment, as well as education for the community in topics such as basic sanitation, so as prevent the population from acquiring various diseases.
