Roberto Mancini Calls On Players To Focus On Premier League Rather Than FA Cup Final

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has asked his players to turn their attention to the Premier League, instead of looking ahead towards the FA Cup final.

City has a chance of breaking its silverware drought this season – which has lasted for over three decades – as it plays Stoke City in the final of the competition on May 14.

But the Eastlands outfit first has league games against West Ham United, Everton and Tottenham before the cup final, and the former Inter boss has encouraged his players to concentrate on the task at hand.

“I think we have five games to go and we should do the maximum that we can do,” Mancini said, according to Sky Sports.

“But step by step now we have West Ham and our focus will be on West Ham.

“For every target that you set it’s better that we play to win every game then in the end we see where we are.”

Concerning the FA Cup, he added, “I think it is an important moment for the supporters after many years but now for us it is important to focus on the next three games in the Premier League.”
