Theboombox : Having released three solo albums and worked with many of hip-hop’s top producers, including Timbaland, Danja, Swizz Beatz, Hi-Tek and Havoc, G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks is ready for something new.
While most rappers attempt a transition to the big screen when they grow restless with the booth (i.e. Banks’ mentor 50 Cent), the Queens rapper, who is nearing his 30th birthday, has opted to get behind the board.
“One of the biggest things I want to do is I want to produce,” Banks revealed to AllHipHop.com. “As far as sounds. I kind of know what’s missing or what would even just sound dope in certain places.”
While production requires a lot more than simply knowing what “sounds dope,” there are plenty of studio wizards who don’t utilize lots of equipment, including the legendary Beastie Boys and veteran producer Rick Rubin.
