KENYA Airways has announced resumption of its services to Abidjan, Ivory Coast after calm returned in the country following months of chaos and violence over disputed election results.

Starting next week Tuesday, KQ will operate three weekly flights to Abidjan every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. “Kenya Airways flights to Abidjan/Dakar were re routed to Accra, Ghana on 1st April due to security reasons. But as a result of the improved political and security situation in Cote d’Ivoire, Abidjan flights have been reinstated,” read part of the airline’s statement.

Kenya Airways flies daily to Dakar, 3 times a week via Abidjan and 4 times a week via Bamako Mali. Ivory Coast was plunged into political skirmishes after a dispute in election results in November 2010 and stability was restored early April after capture of Laurent Gbagbo the former president.
