A blast has rocked the main square in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, killing at least 10 people, officials say.
Some reports say the blast, which tore through a busy cafe on Djemaa el-Fna square, was caused by a gas cylinder.
Marrakesh, a popular tourist destination, was bustling with activity at the time of the blast.
Morocco has seen two months of protests demanding that King Mohammed VI give up some of his powers, amid a tide of uprisings across the region.
Morocco’s MAP news agency said the blast had hit the Argana cafe.
An official told Reuters that staff and customers at the cafe were among the dead.
Witnesses described hearing a huge blast that sent debris flying into the air.
One report by the Reuters news agency said he saw bodies being pulled from the rubble.
