Luanda — The artistic director of the theatre group “Julu”, Lourenço Mateus, Tuesday in Luanda, said that the community theatre is one of the most effective ways for transmission of moral and civic values to society.
Speaking to ANGOP, Lourenço Mateus, appealed to the various theatre groups to focus on activities in communities, ways to pass positive messages emphasizing the fight against alcoholism, smoking and juvenile delinquency.
The director also spoke of the need for artists to show the population the importance of conservation of public heritage, waste handling, as well as preserve the good relations between residents.
The Julu group exists since 1992 and performs in several provinces over the radio drama, television spots and theatre in the communities.
Twice winner of the Theatre Festival of Luanda in 1999 and 2000, it also participated in the international event as the biennial of young creators of the CPLP, in the African festivals in DR Congo, and exchange experiences with groups in Mozambique.
