She’s not a celebrity usually known for her sense of style.

And today Daybreak presenter Kate Garraway made something of a fashion blunder as she decided to show her support for the Royal Wedding by stepping out in a plunging Union Jack maxi dress.

The 43-year-old presenter looked delighted with her patriotic outfit as she arrived at the ITV studios this morning.

Dramatic: But ITV bosses later ruled it was ‘too much’ for her to wear on air

However, Daybreak’s Entertainment Editor Garraway later tweeted that ITV bosses had ruled the dress was ‘too much’ for her to wear on air.

She wrote on her Twitter page: ‘Gettin in the mood 4 the RW – ” powers that be” say ” too much” for on air – what u think??!!’

An ITV source later said that Garraway’s outfit for Friday is already planned and the presenter was being tongue in cheek with her comments.

Garraway teamed the low-cut dress, which displayed a dark red bra, with a pair of brown wedges and a white flower in her hair.

She is just one of the presenters who will be hosting the special edition of Daybreak on Friday when Prince William marries Kate Middleton.

Talking about her presenting duties, Garraway said: ‘I’ll be at the parties in Kate Middleton’s home village of Bucklebury reporting on all the excitement throughout the day.

‘I know there are also lots of parties the area I live in and I think it’s great that communities are getting together and celebrating – something that doesn’t usually happen anymore.’
