Reject Leaders Supporting Homosexuality – Daka

MSANZALA Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Daka has called on Zambians to reject opposition party leaders who are pressing for laws to support homosexuality because it is against the Bible principles and should instead support President Rupiah Banda.

He said Zambians should be wary of some politicians who wanted to bring foreign laws in the country to be recognised when Zambia was a Christian nation unlike other countries supporting such acts.

Mr Daka who is also Science, Technology and Vocational Training Minister said people should reject such politicians because the Bible forbid homosexuality and people should stick to Bible teachings.

He said it was disappointing that some leaders who were vying for higher offices wanted to introduce laws that could not benefit Zambians in any way.

Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata is on record when he told foreign Journalists that the Zambian laws recognised homosexuality and that the laws were already there and what was needed was to implement them.

Mr Sata’s advocacy for homosexuality has since received widespread condemnation from a cross section of society.

Mr Daka said during a rally he addressed in Msanzala constituency in Petauke District that political leaders advocating such vices should be condemned and rejected.

He told the meeting also attended by several headmen at Nyakawise ward that the electorate should rebuff such political leaders with such intentions saying accepting such leaders would be tantamount to endorsing sin in the country.

“Homosexuality is against the Bible principles. Do not be influenced by such politicians who want to introduce those laws. Let us open our eyes and see why such leaders want to bring such laws. As Zambians let us be careful in the way we take some of these politicians,” Mr Daka said.

He appealed to Zambians to back President Rupiah Banda and ruling MMD leadership because of the good developmental policies the Government had initiated and would continue to implement.

He said Zambians should not always want to test leadership each time there was an election in the country because that had potential to

disrupt developmental agendas that ruling MMD Government was carrying out. “President Banda has not failed us. I am urging you not to experiment  leadership in this country. Let us support President Banda and give him a fresh mandate. He is working hard and today our economy is improving,” Mr Daka said.

He said he was happy the electrification project in Msanzala had benefited many areas such as Chief Nyamphande’s palace and the surrounding schools and clinics saying all such development came as a result of President Banda. He said the Government was also working on installing communication transmitters in areas of poor communication reception in Petauke district through all communication providers.
