EIGHT teams are expected to battle it out in this year’s Bamburi Rugby Super Series (BRSS) scheduled to kick off on Saturday.
BRSS organizing committee spokesman, Michael Kwambo, said the teams released their respective squads on Wednesday as they look forward to setting up an exciting battle for top honours in the event.
The teams are Mumias Sugar Buffaloes, SDV Transami Cheetahs, Lions, UAP Rhinos, Nguvu Sharks and Coastal Bulls from Kenya, Victoria and Rwenzori from Uganda.
The tournament is the only major regional rugby competition involving clubs from East African nations with a view to promoting the sport.
With only two days to go before the beginning of the showdown, Tanzania had yet to confirm its participation in the tournament and efforts to get the Tanzania Rugby Union (TRU) officials’ comments on the matter proved futile.
