Ahead of Wednesday night’s match against Bolton, Fulham striker Andy Johnson has insisted that his side are not yet safe from relegation.

Johnson, who scored 18 seconds after coming on as a substitute at the weekend to secure a 1-1 draw away to Wolves, has helped guide the Cottagers to 14th in the Premier League, but they are just five points above the relegation zone

Following Bolton’s FA Cup involvement, Fulham have their game in hand against the Trotters on Wednesday, and Johnson knows how important the game is for the west London club.

“I don’t think we can say we’re safe yet,” Johnson was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

“It’s so tight down at the bottom, and there are still a lot of points to play for.

“Over the past few years, people have looked at the 40-point mark as the safety line, but it might be higher this year because everyone’s beaten each other at the bottom.

“We have to get as many points as we can, and as quickly as we can, because nobody is safe from about 12th place downwards.”

Fulham play Bolton on Wednesday before travelling to Sunderland. They then host Liverpool before playing Birmingham away and Arsenal at home.
