The Andrew Kamanga-led FAZ Interim Committee has called on the 223 affiliates that enjoy full membership rights to remain resolute and ensure that the vote of no confidence motion succeeds during this weekend’s delayed annual general meeting (AGM) in order to help salvage the game from an administrative abyss.
Interim Committee media liaison officer Lwangu Mwilu said the committee expected the councillors to remain strong and resolute to pass the vote of no confidence during this weekend’s AGM set for Kabwe at the Mulungushi University.
Mwilu said in an interview yesterday that Football House must respect the agreed upon list of 223 recognised members of FAZ.
She said excluding the vote of no confidence motion has the potential to plunge Zambian football into total chaos and it would also amount to disregarding a directive that came from the world soccer governing body FIFA.
Mwilu said the vote of no confidence motion has been constitutionally forwarded and the Interim Committee and sees no reason why it should be omitted from the agenda this Saturday.
“As you are aware the vote of no confidence motion has been constitutionally forwarded so there is no reason it should be left off. Our expectation is that councillors remain strong and resolute to pass the motion during the AGM,” she said.
Mwilu said a lot of issues needed to be ironed out during the delayed AGM to remove the current leaders and bring back sanity into the running of the game.
