Premier League Team of the Week: Chicharito & Torres form attacking partnership as hat-trick hero Maxi Rodriguez earns a spot

The latest round of Premier League fixtures served up a number of interesting storylines as Manchester United took a step closer to winning a 19th title, Arsenal‘s challenge crumbled at the Reebok and a certain £50 million Spaniard finally broke his Chelsea duck.

Javier Hernandez was the hero for the Red Devils as they edged past Everton to move onto 73 points for the season while second-placed Chelsea continued their recent surge with a 3-0 win over West Ham.

Arsene Wenger’s Gunners wasted the chance to keep their title hopes alive as goals from Daniel Sturridge and Tamir Cohen ensured Bolton would pick up all three points in Sunday’s only fixture in England’s top flight.

Liverpool improved their chances of a Europa League spot by thrashing Birmingham City 5-0 while Tottenham will be looking over their shoulders in fifth place after being held to a 2-2 draw by West Brom at White Hart Lane.

The plot continues to thicken at the foot of the table as Blackpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle while Fulham battled back to draw with Wolves and Stoke City and Aston Villa also shared a 1-1 scoreline.

Sunderland, meanwhile, eased their relegation fears with a 4-2 win over struggling Wigan Athletic and Manchester City kept their top-four hopes intact with a 1-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers.
