Despite its Copa del Rey loss last week, the Argentinean is upbeat and said that teamwork rather than one-man rule would win the day.
“Our faith is intact and you cannot evaluate the result just on one game. All season we have been doing what has been required. We are doing things right and we took plenty of positives from the loss in the Copa,” he told the press.
“What we have to do is to play like the second-half in the Copa del Rey final in Valencia. In the firsthalf of that game we didn’t have possession and couldn’t play our usual game.
“It’s Madrid-Barcelona, a historic semifinal. The important thing is to stay focused so we can reach the Wembley final.”
When asked whether the team’s stellar season has taken its toll on the players, Mascherano said: “Yes, there is tiredness, but this does not matter in games. At the end of the season it’s not just us, but all clubs.
“But when you play important games it doesn’t matter. The players think of other things.
