Ghana Goalkeeper Kingson Confident Of Competent Replacements When He Retires

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson says Stars will get good replacement for him

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson is optimistic the country will not struggle without him when he retires after the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars have struggled for Kingson’s replacement for the past few years with William Amamoo, Philemon McCarthy, Sammy Adjei all getting the opportunity to impress.

Despite the presence of all these keepers, fans have remained overly confident in the ability of the England-based player.

The Blackpool glovesman has been the country safest pair of hands for many years.

There are fears his imminent retirement could land the country into goalkeeping quagmire but the experienced stopper says such talks are well wide of the mark.

“I think there are equally good goalkeepers who can step in my shoes and so I think there shouldn’t be cause for alarm at all,” Kingson said.

“There are a lot for some to learn but surely we have fantastic talents and I’m positive they will fit the bill well when I quit international football.

“I have absolute hope and faith in them to deliver and continue from where we have left off.”

Goalkeepers Adam Kwarasey in Norway and Spain-based Razak Braimah are some of the goalkeepers being tipped to takeover when Kingson quits.
